“The University of Calgary Dinos field hockey team faces a tall order this weekend as it rolls up to Edmonton to take on the University of Alberta Pandas for the last berth in the CIS championships.
These are the last two games for both teams who sit third and fourth in Canada West, with the top three teams advancing nationals.
Currently the 2-7-1 Dinos sit in fourth place just one point below the 2-6-2 Pandas.
Alberta’s magic number for points is two, so the situation for Calgary is simple: two wins or a win and a tie, the Dinos advance to the national tournament for the first time since 1997; anything else, and their season is over.”
